Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic School was opened on January 3, 1927, as part of a newly established Catholic parish. Classes from grades one through five were held in the mission church. The first teachers were members of the Olivetan Benedictine order of religious sisters. In 1946, the pastor Monsignor Francis A. Allen, presented diplomas to the first eighth grade graduates.
Over the years, several additions have been made to the school. Present enrollment is 524 students and includes pre-kindergarten classes through the eighth grade. Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic School accepts students of all races, nationalities and ethnic origins. The school also admits those with learning differences or disabilities. Although most students are of the Catholic faith, those of other religious beliefs are also welcomed. Through the years, Holy Souls has maintained a philosophy of meeting the needs of as many students as possible.
